'Know More About Diabetes' With the U.S. Postage Stamp

The U.S. Postal Service kicked off its year-long diabetes awareness campaign by unveiling this 34-cent stamp. The phrase "Know More About Diabetes" emphasizes the importance of awareness and early detection of diabetes, and the microscope and test tube represent diabetes testing and research.

The National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators all worked with the Postal Service. The toll-free telephone number of the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse, 1–800–860–8747, is listed on an accompanying campaign poster, which was developed by the Postal Service and is displayed in local post offices.
